When you book a stay at our Mountaintop chalet, you aren’t just booking a place to stay for a few days … you are booking a ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE with memories that will last a life time! Our home is unique in its own right and outstanding for its location on the Laurentians as the highest elevation habitation offering endless views, sunsets and waking up in mornings above the clouds!
In the winter months, it is advisable for guests to have a ALL-WHEEL DRIVE vehicle if they are not accustomed to navigating winter conditions on a mountain road. Although our road is professionally plowed and sanded, it is long, about 3 km, and has some steep spots, which may prove difficult for some drivers or vehicles.
Guests have access to the 230 acre property including two gorgeous swimmable lakes with private docks and many trails for wandering and exploring.
LAC AUGER is the lake you see far below the mountaintop home. It is a 12 minute walk down the private road to this lake. It is accessible by car off the private driveway, there is lots of room to park your cars. There is a dock, Muskoka chairs on the dock, paddle boards, a canoe and kayaks. There is also a fire pit, firewood, a picnic table and a large BBQ. There are speckled trout in this lake if you want to try some fishing.
LAC de la TUQUE is closer to the Chalet but you cannot see it from the house.
This lake is a short 5 minute walk or 1 minute drive from the Mountaintop Chalet. There is a dock, Muskoka Chairs, paddle boards, a canoe, pedal boat, kayaks and even a rope swing on the far side of the lake. There is also a fire pit with fire wood at this lake. There is also Rainbow Trout in this lake if you would like to try fishing!
Both of these lakes are private but are BOTH shared with one other house located on this private property. Canadian Hudsons Bay Cabana Towels and life jackets are provided inside the house. If you would like to fish please bring your own rods and fishing license is required even on private lakes.
This incredible home took over 4-years to bring to life … the Vision, the Planning, the construction of the Road to the mountaintop, negotiating the Power lines, building the infrastructure, hauling the materials to the top of the rock. The foundation is pinned to ancient rocks with massive British Columbia Fir Timbers beaming the spans and holding up the steeply pitched roof.
Natural air conditioning from the prevailing winds offer cool comfort in the summer. The massive chimney and fireplace provide toasty warmth in the dead of winter … the waterfall feature brings peace and serenity as the home invites relaxation and daydreaming. Top off your day soaking in the highest Laurentian Hot tub Spa, glass of wine in hand, taking in the changing sky, the endless mountain range and the surreal valley below.

There are 4 separate bedrooms (1 KING and 3 QUEEN) – Each bedroom is situated on one of the 4 Levels of the home. Each bed has a top cushion quality Mattress and is outfitted with 5 STAR Hotel Style pressed linens and bedding. We provide plush robes, slippers and throw blankets.
We do require a copy of your government issued photo ID (Drivers License) that matches yourVRBO profile photo, home address and personal email address. We also require full names of all guests staying at the Chalet. Thank you in advance!

Summary: This property is simply magic. Located on the top of a Laurentian mountain it provides stunning views across a vast landscape. It is beyond private and the two lakes on the property are lovely. So we’ll equipped. Lots of plates, cutlery, dishes, etc. soft towels and Hudson’s Bay bath towels too. Beds are super comfy. Loads of wood, and a thoughtfulness of architectural design that we all appreciated. Best part, Jade, the owner, could not have done more for us. He was very kind and helpful at every stage of his booking. We’ll be back, we hope.
