Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Excellent location on the border of Born and Eixample right. Not far from Gothic quarter. Lovely Old building with wooden shutters on the balcony and a marble staircase. There is a lift to the fourth floor. Close to restaurants. Banfield cafe, Exotica brunch and Trafalgar pizza were all good. Hotel was Fairly quiet. Very clean. Helpful reception staff. Lovely en-suite shower. Clean towels every day. Comfortable bed and pillows. A safe in the room. We loved the little balcony with two chairs, tree and rooftops view. Free street map provided. They stored our bags after check out time.
Negative: Reception closes at 11pm which could be a problem if you check in later than this. It also means there are no staff to prevent noise in the hotel after 11pm. Some noise from other guests coming in at 5am and being very noisy for about an hour. Street noise also in the early morning - like refuse trucks. The room is basic with no facilities for tea and coffee . No communal areas. A kettle can be borrowed from reception but I don’t know about mugs. Coffee is available in reception in the morning but no milk or other drinks.
