Opatija is magnificent small town famous for it's micro- climate and was developed by Austrian aristocracy as a health resort and nick named as the Pearl of Adriatic. Many of Opatija beautiful villas were their second homes and they still proudly occupy many prime ocean front locations. Opatija has a unique location with easy reach of other famous destinations, such as the beautiful island Krk, Cres and Losinj and city of Rijeka. The famous and beautiful peninsula of Istria also referred to us the second Tuscany is in our very back yard. Venice is only 2-2,5 hours drive from here as well as Croatian most famous national park Plitvice lakes and many others interesting destinations certainly worth a visit.
