The Space:
Château de Rigoulières sleeps up to a maximum of 20 adults in 9 bedrooms with 13 beds. Our accommodation offers 6 defined suites and can be configured to meet our guests needs.
The noble, stone-built residence is beautifully decorated with period furnishings, paintings and tapestries throughout, enhancing the rustic charm of this traditional French Manoir.
With over 9500 square feet of living space and six spacious suites distributed across two floors, the Château accommodates up to 20 adults in 9 bedrooms. The opulent master bedroom with its period furnishings makes the perfect suite for wedding preparations and photographs. Each stylish suite has its own bathroom, with many bedrooms boasting an en suite. The well-appointed rooms benefit from large traditional windows with delightful views of the mature gardens, woodland and countryside beyond. There is also as 2-bedroom self-contained suite with its very own kitchen, lounge, dining room and gym.
The main entertaining areas are located on the ground floor and include a stylish kitchen equipped with all the modern appliances, a cinema room, snug, living room and dining room. Many of the rooms have double door access onto the charming stone veranda which runs the full length across the rear of the Château and rests above the river frontage. There is ample seating and lounging chairs to take in the scenic views and rest in the sunshine. The veranda is framed by a beautiful, mature wisteria adding to the summer scents and beauty.
The entertaining areas on the ground floor include a modern state of the art kitchen nestled in to the ancient stonework of the Château. It features all the necessities for preparing food and entertaining your guests. Across the hallway from the kitchen, there is a large classic dining room with solid wood dining table and seats for 10 guests. At the other end of the room, there's a comfortable sofa area set around a log burning stove. A door leads through to a superb cinema room boasting a large screen, projector, surround sound and of course a good selection of DVDs.
Located on the first floor, The Master Suite is the most luxurious and opulent suite with an impressive fireplace, period furniture and large hung tapestries. It features a super-king size bed and en suite bathroom.
The Master Suite leads through to the Ladies and Writers Suite. This suite features one bedroom with a king size bed, a writing room with a daybed and its own bathroom. These beautiful rooms have views over the grounds and river.
Full of rustic charm, The Riverside Suite has a king size bed, its own Jack and Jill bathroom and boasts wonderful views of the River Lot.
Also located on the first floor is The Upper Suite. The bedroom is a lovely, bright room with high beamed ceiling, traditional flooring and large fireplace with hanging tapestry. This room has 2 double wooden beds and its own en suite. There is also a sizeable lounge area comfortably seating up to 7 guests and equipped with a large tv with dvd/freesat.
The Guardian Suite on the first floor is a cosy self-contained suite ideal for a smaller family unit. It comprises of 2 bedrooms sleeping a total of 3 guests, an open-plan lounge and kitchen area, dining room, bathroom and gym. The suite has double door access onto the front lawn area and overlooks the lower walled water garden.
The Ground Floor Suite has the charm and opulence of a 14th Century Chateau combined with a modern touch. All rooms have multi-aspect windows, flooding the rooms with natural light and of course, superb views over the grounds and river. The main bedroom sleeps up to 4 guests, with 2 double beds and its own seating area. This leads to an additional bedroom with 2 single beds, desk and access onto the patio with seating for 2 overlooking the garden.
This suite also has a generously sized lounge with ample entertaining space for 6 guests, a grand fireplace and TV, DVD player and HD Freesat. The beautiful bathroom brings the old and new together perfectly. It includes a toilet, 2 sinks and opens in to a larger bathroom with roll top bath and walk-in shower.
