The apartment In the old town of Stein an der Donau, very close to the Danube Private University (DPU), you will find these two beautiful suites, each with a bathroom, king-size bed and air conditioning. They are also part of the Smile Apartments "Art Collection". Stein an der Donau is a very beautiful, originally very wealthy district of Krems an der Donau and, as the name suggests, is located directly on the Danube. There are great restaurants and wine taverns in the vicinity, such as the popular Italian Firenze or the Wellenspiel, which is known for its extensive deluxe breakfast.
"Art Collection" stands for a unique version of Smile Apartments. In every "Art Collection" apartment there is art by well-known, mainly Austrian artists. These include works of art by Gottfried Helnwein, Christian Eisenberger, Hermann Nitsch and many more.
This suite apartment is a unit divided into two, perfect for a family or very well suited for two couples, which share a main entrance door, dining table for four people and a small kitchenette as well as air conditioning, but you have complete privacy thanks to two bedrooms with your own Closet, bathroom adjoining each other and your own TV with HD Austria and access to Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime. The king-size bed is equipped with a high-quality mattress, two pillows and a comfortable blanket for each person.
Everything you need to prepare breakfast or a simple meal is in the kitchenette. There is also tea, coffee, salt, pepper and a small portion of oil and vinegar. The honesty bar is stocked with our favorite Wachau wines at fair prices. There are of course two good beers for our beer lovers.
The bathroom with rain shower and toilet is directly adjacent to the king-size bed. The bathroom is equipped with Rituals shower essentials, a hairdryer and towels.
The entire deluxe apartment is accessible at ground level. There are no steps in or to the apartment.
With weekly cleaning from 7 nights, towels, toilet paper, kitchen roll, tea towels, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, bed linen & rituals essentials are exchanged for new ones and the apartment is cleaned.
the car park There is a free short-term parking zone in the old town of Stein. The maximum parking time is 3 hours. This must be proven with a parking meter. A parking meter, as a gift from us, is already waiting for you in the apartment.
From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. you can park for free and without a parking meter. If you set it to 08:00 the day before, then you can comfortably stay there until 11:00.
If you don't want to set a parking meter, there are also paid parking spaces and parking garages in the area to park your car and, for example, switch to a bicycle. We would be happy to inform you about this in a telephone conversation.

The prosperity of the former port city of Stein is still astonishing today: richly decorated portals, bay windows and architectural treasures such as the Göttweigerhof, the Minorite Church and the parish church. Those who come from the Danube walk across the town hall square past the Johannes Nepomuk monument and the baroque town hall along Steiner Landstrasse - past the Krems art gallery, the caricature museum and the Und monastery - to the Steiner Tor. This is the only one of the four Krems city gates that has survived and is decorated with inscriptions and coats of arms. This is where the old town of Krems begins with the Upper and Lower Landstrasse, which has been the main axis of the city since the Middle Ages. A short tour leads to the Gozzoburg, the churches and the town hall from the 16th century, to the Göglhaus at the daily market, to the Simandl fountain, where a wine festival takes place every year in June, and to the Dominican church.
