Experience San Diego like a local and enjoy ocean views all day long at The Artist's Studio in Sunset Cliffs. With floor to ceiling windows on the entire West side, this delightful 2nd story home will inspire your creative side with its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. March of 2021, a full remodel was completed on this charming studio. You will feel relaxed in this tranquil space with driftwood color vinyl plank flooring, recessed lighting, and contemporary decor. The living room has an extra large 76 inch flat screen TV. The all new fully equipped kitchen is open to the living room and convenient for cooking and eating meals at home. Sliding glass doors open to a large, bright indoor patio space with 11 opening windows, a large table for dining with a view and/or use it as a large work table/desk. There is also a comfy chair, queen bed and both rooms have blackout curtains.
The bathroom has a large walk in shower. Downstairs in the backyard of the main house is a cabinet with a full sized (and free) washer and dryer for your convenience. Note: You do not have use of the driveway, back yard or the deck area (which belongs to the main house), except to use your washer and dryer. Ample street parking is available.
This convenient location is just 3 blocks from the tide pools at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park with 3 lateral miles of cliffs stretching from Ocean Beach to the tip of Point Loma. The park includes carved coastal bluffs, arches and sea caves. From the cliffs, the California gray whale can be seen from December through February on their annual migration from the Bering Sea to Baja California. The park is a popular place to view the sunset, hence the name, so try not to miss them!
You are only one and a half miles from the Ocean Beach Pier with its numerous antique stores on Newport Ave and the delightful Wednesday afternoon (4-8pm) Farmers Market. Think of it as a fresh-air grocery store with a focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, spreads, baked goods, honey, kombucha, flowers and more! There are a handful of artisan food vendors providing to-go food, to take home and enjoy with your view! And it's just 1.8 miles from the San Diego Yacht Club in Point Loma.
Stretching out a bit farther, you are only 3.4 miles from SeaWorld, 4.2 miles from Old Town, 4.3 miles to Cabrillo National Monument with it's amazing Visitor Center and Lighthouse museum, 5.2 miles from Waterfront Park with all it's floating museums, and just 7 miles from the Gaslamp District, Little Italy, and the world famous San Diego Zoo in lovely Balboa Park. Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners and this one is no exception. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. (*Please note: We do not give refunds because a piece of furniture or artwork has changed and anyway, it's usually an upgrade when something is changed.)
*NOTE: This home is in a residential neighborhood and, as such, is a NOISE SENSITIVE property. Respect must be shown for the property and neighbors at all times. No loud music, parties, and or loud talking outside after 9 pm. Violation of these rules MAY result in immediate eviction from the property per your rental agreement, and/or fines from the San Diego Police. Please review your rental agreement for complete details and rules about your home!

Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a rental agreement for your upcoming stay which you will need to complete. We will also contact you within 24 hours of the booking to obtain contact information and to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your upcoming visit along with the House Rules & Rental Agreement. The check-in details will not be shared until the rental agreement has been signed.
Attention Guests: In addition to completing our electronic rental agreement, you will also be required to participate in our identity verification process. The service is offered through Autohost; an intelligent guest screening software that automates ID verifications, background and credit checks, security deposits and more, helping to improve guest experience and safety. We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store.
Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.
While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. Booking Policy: LONG-TERM during the off-season, 30+ days
Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.
Arrival/Departure Policy:
Check in time is 3 pm and strictly enforced. (From June-August, check-in is at 4pm)
Check out time is 11 am.
Please follow all instructions for your arrival and departure in our email and phone call correspondence. There is signage around the home to assist with the use of amenities and questions that you may have during your stay. We are available too, even after hours-give us a call!
Pet Policy: Small pets may be accepted upon approval with an additional pet fee. Please note: a pet fee of $200 plus tax for the first pet, and $100 plus tax for second pet. Please send breed and pet description(s) for approval on your pet's stay.
