Positive: We really liked this place. It was a cute little house with a comfy porch in the middle of a garden so large that we could not even reach the end of it. On the fruit and palm trees surrounding the house we saw more birds than in the official National Parks. (This was actually an experience at every lovely house we stayed in CR.) Even a hummingbird one morning, also parrots or toucans roaming around. The hosts were nice, we found fresh cold coconuts in our fridge as welcome gifts, and one night we were shown the exotic frogs that were around the property. The hosts did not speak english yet the communication was seamless and kind. We made a good decision that we rented a place like this outside of La Fortuna, as the area had a real pura vida vibe, and the town itself had nothing to add to this feeling. You do need a car though to reach La Fortuna, but to be honest, there is not too many reasons to do so. Focus on the sights instead - for that you need a car anyway. BTW parking was also easy, close to the house in case you have, for some reason, security concerns about your car.
