THE LAY OF THE LAND:
We are a 5 acre homestead surrounded by woods at the very back of a hollar. The Little Lodge and our other 2 listings share share our 5 acres but spread apart, and each separated by hills. We are slightly visible to you from the back side of your cabin (which nothing of use to you is on). Still very secluded, and private for our guests stay.
YOUR TRAIL:
Beginning with the private guest wooden bridge, then following the mulch trail with signs and arrows, YOU WILL SHARE A TRAIL WITH our OTHER LISTING GUESTS. We do not guarantee you won't hear the other guests, but we have enacted the quiet hours for this reason. We've never had an issue as most guests are very respectful of quiet hours. This is a very easy 1-2 minute hike (from the bridge to your Little Lodge) for the average person, moderate for those with physical ailments/etc.
OFF GRID LIVING:
We are off grid, meaning, no running water, no electricity. (we do have an ext cord option)Read more below for details...
TOILET:
You also have a very first unique attached wood chip compost bathroom, this is designed so the guest never has to leave the Lodge, but can still remain an off grid experience. It is a very simple to use system, well sealed and fully ventilated for freshness, but also removable if you prefer.
HEATING/COOLING:
We are fully insulated and have a wonderful wood stove indoors with blower which overheats the Little Lodge if not careful. We provide a heater and fan year round which works great. Were also under a full canopy April-November/December. We also have windows and 1 door with screens.If you cannot keep a fire going or are inexperienced in woodstove handling this may not be the stay for you.
WATER:
We provide 1 Gallon of water per day for washing ONLY (not drinking) to use in the water dispenser above the kitchen wash bin. LODGE DOES NOT HAVE RUNNING WATER!
KITCHEN:

Amongst a minimalistic stocked kitchen (see amenities list) it includes a one burner butane stove (butane NOT provided), french press, and wood stove to cook on. We offer a collection of teas, and coffees, for you to enjoy. Bring your own drinking water, and ice. We provide a cooler indoors!
LIGHTING:
With all the windows we have tons of natural lighting, we provide LED candles. You are HIGHLY encouraged to bring head lamps/flashlights for the trail, and even more lighting if you prefer to your liking indoors.
SHOWER:
We provide a OUTDOOR BAG camping shower system, but NO privacy shower stall currently, so feel free to use with swimwear/etc! Towels NOT provided.
TINY LIVING STYLE:
The Little Lodge is 167 sq ft of cozy! THIS IS A TINY LIVING EXPERIENCE!
Super comfortable for 2, and we have a very plush memory foam twin mattress on the main level and a queen memory foam mattress in the loft. The loft is accessible by ladder only, not suitable for toddlers/babies/young children etc, use at your own discretion. NOTE: loft roof is A angled (as seen in picture) so if over 5’6”/7” you may not want to sleep in loft.
OTHER:
The Lodge is mostly toxin free! I have tried to keep each guest in mind with providing safe metals for dining, biodegradable products, reusable products, and toxin free washers and cleaners, all 100% pure essential oils. We also ask you to refrain from spraying bug sprays/etc off the property as we are a NO SPRAY ZONE and neighbor to one of the United States best bee breeders!

FIREWOOD:
INDOOR safe firewood is $6 per bundle (1 bundle is good for 1 nights worth)
OUTDOOR firewood is $6 per bundle
If you ordered and paid for wood, will see your order on the trail. YOU HAUL. Please do not take other guests orders.
WIFI:
you may be able to catch it in the little lodge, NOT GUARANTEED!!!!!
But you can at the nearby Lions Club/Church/or KFB RIGHT IN TOWN for free wifi. You'll find multiple listings on local restaurants, attractions, shopping, and experiences in the Lodge as well.
PERKS:
We have a home gym basket (mat, cleaner, bands) and bird watching items!
PETS:
ALL dogs welcome but must be contained on leash/lead (lead provided) at site as we have free range animals.
SURROUNDINGS/QUIET HOURS:
Our neighbors...we have wonderful neighbors farther away, but we ask that visitors respect the after hours quiet times from 10pm-8 am. We MAYBE hear our neighbors bonfire/music 1-2 times per year
CHECK OUT:
Our time is very valuable. If failure to check out at 10 am, you will be charged an additional $50 late fee.

SAFETY:
We take safety very seriously. Here are a few other things we provide in addition to main door deadbolt, and fire alarm. Fire extinguisher, large 5 gallon bucket of water for fire pit ER put out, loft railing, and a fire escape ladder for loft window.
Winter:
The creek always is beautiful in the winter, and the views of the mountains and sunrises/sunsets surrounding us are spectacular when all the leaves have dropped, BEST view is from the Little Lodge main bay window (this is why we faced Little Lodge this direction!)
Summer:
We are heavily wooded and fully secluded, birds take over, and the creek gets moving nicely! Rains here are usually downpours which are perfect for sitting by the creek after to hear the sound of the creek running. The downpours make for the coziest day/night in!
Spring:
We have over 22 varieties of wild flowers that pop up in just our yard alone. Its so nice to watch everything come back to life!
Fall:
You may see persimmons, and chives growing wild once you cross over the bridge, feel free to enjoy! The fall colors are great the end of October/early November. Usually our trees have lost all their leaves by mid November.
RULES:
NO pets (service dogs welcome)

NO parties
NO visitors (unless prev. agreed by host)
NO smoking/vaping/cigars indoors
NO fireworks
NO stealing! If you need something, just ask.
We are a NO spray zone, (please put spray sunscreens etc on off property!)
