The Seaside Chapel is a newly renovated 2 bedroom spacious home. Uncluttered bedrooms and bathrooms have stained glass windows, new flooring and soft furnishings. Our Lovely Little Bathroom has the prettiest stained glass windows you’ll ever find and includes a modern shower and freestanding bath. Guests enjoy the large new kitchen and huge dining and lounge area. We are excited to share this stunning property in beautiful Port Fairy! Our fences are 1.10cm/1.80cm high Insulated floors allow this beautiful property to be warm in winter and cool in summer! The Seaside Chapel has a long and interesting history. Once a Methodist church in northern Victoria it was brought to Port Fairy on a truck in three parts . Beautiful stained glass windows feature in each bedroom and the lovely little bathroom (LLB) including the huge open plan cooking/dining and living area in the main church hall. The back balcony has a bbq and outdoor table too. | BOUTIQUE ACCOMMODATION | In November 2020, the property was converted into cosy boutique holiday style accommodation, just minutes from the beach and shops. It boasts 1 king and 1 queen bedroom; a double sofa bed which can be separated into 2x single beds, 1.5 bathrooms and a very large living and dining area for you to host small dinner parties or small events such as book launches, yoga /meditation workshops, small seminars, staff meetings/dinner, small Christmas parties etc. The bedrooms and bathroom are in the back section (the old vestry), which offer access through a period oak door to a veranda and deck. | NO NEED TO PACK | We provide herbal tea, black tea, coffee capsules, milk and lots of treats are in the pantry for you to enjoy. We would prefer you to relax than worry about not having the basic ingredients when cooking. So we provide flour, sugar, herbs and spices, sauces and a few naughty treats here and there. We gladly provide hand soap, shampoo/conditioner, body wash soap, hair dryer, makeup wipes, sunscreen lotion and bath/beach towels. Sufficient dishwasher tablets, washing powder and cleaning liquids are also provided during your stay in case the odd spill here and there occurs. Bedlinen and waffle quilt covers are professionally washed and treated to follow the Covid regulations. There is an iron/ironing board, washing pegs, retractable outdoor clothes drying rack (outside 2nd bedroom on fence ) and an indoor mobile one too. Our book, board game and children’s toy collection is growing. We are a family of linguists, authors and readers - please enjoy any of the books in the bookshelf provided but leave them behind for the next guest to enjoy. If you look carefully, there may be a best selling book that includes the owner as one of the main characters. You may even find another best selling book written by the owner’s sister in the collection too ! | WE ARE TRIALLING PET FRIENDLINESS AGAIN| Unfortunately we have recently had to replace many pieces of furniture and linen due to dogs chewing on them and lying on beds during a few bookings. We have decided to charge a fee for guests who want to bring pets. | OUTDOOR RAIN SHOWER | Our property boasts a beautiful outdoor hot/cold (no soap) shower since January 2024. Perfect to rinse off after a day at the beach! | MAGICAL, CRYSTAL CLEAR BEACHES | The crystal clear aqua water and small waves makes Port Fairy beaches feel like you are instantly in paradise. Young families and emerging swimmers will especially enjoy the calmer waters. Guests can enjoy the surrounding close beaches for a surf, snorkel, fish or paddle board - East Beach (patrolled) , Peasoup Beach (unpatrolled), Killarney Beach (unpatrolled). | FRESH LOCAL SEAFOOD | Plentiful amounts of fresh seafood are caught in the area including crayfish, prawns, squid and oysters. | UNWIND & RELAX | A stunning walk to the lighthouse and an after stroll along the Moyne River is a great way to unwind. A few hours of shopping in the local village, topped off with an afternoon wine at The Fisherman’s Wharf is also a must. Port Fairy market is held on Saturday mornings during the warmer months and a great place to pick up local produce and designs. A drive to Portland and stop along the way in Bolwarra at the largest rose farm in Australia - Treloar. Then why not stop at the strawberry farm close by that produces the most delicious strawberry ice cream we have ever tasted! | Restaurants and Cafes | A Guest book is provided which includes menus of local cafes and restaurants. During summertime it is always a good idea to pre-order for takeaway or make a reservation 1 week before you check-in. We can’t wait for guests to enjoy this space and are so proud of how our vision for this property has come to fruition. **This property is next to Lucy’s Lane. Guests are welcome to access all rooms in the property and use the back balcony and courtyard area. Easy contactless check in and check out system in place. Guests will enjoy all the features of the entire property to themselves. All interaction will be via the Air BnB portal messaging facility. The host will not greet guests personally upon arrival. MINI GOLF / INDOOR PLAYLAND This is part of the nearby caravan park and is walking distance away. It includes mini golf and an indoor play land for the little ones. FISHING IN PORT FAIRY Port Fairy is a quiet town with a lot of history tucked into every nook and cranny, and the fishing history is no different. Port Fairy lies at the mouth of the Moyne River and provides a great diversity of fishing options for the whole family. With safe fishing platforms and great amenities throughout the river precinct, it’s always a hit for holiday makers and locals alike. Being open to the ocean all year round makes for some pretty great fishing most of the year. Mulloway, snapper, flathead, whiting, salmon, trevally, mullet, bream and squid and at the mouth of the river and school and gummy shark all frequent the river. Martins Point is a great spot for whiting, salmon and flathead while fishing into the river itself or into the small inlet towards the Cutting. In summer, King George whiting can be caught on a few different baits, but pippies are the best bait for doing so. Not only are they a great sport fish but they are also excellent on the tooth. The boat ramp jetties allow for great fishing access. You can get around Port Fairy by car, bike or scooters. Lots of families use bikes as their key mode of transport through the town and to the beach areas. Port Fairy is flat and easy to walk and ride on. Beautiful beach and coves about 2 -3 minutes drive away. The town of Port Fairy boasts some delightful shopping and dining experiences.
