There's public golf at Rumbling Bald, area wineries, breweries, music, trails, waterfalls, and more within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion is hosting some of the Chimney Rock businesses on weekends. Saluda, Rutherfordton, Black Mountain, Saluda, Mills River, Blowing Rock, Boone, and Brevard are great day-trip destinations.
