This clean and spacious two-story home celebrates high ceilings, panoramic window views with gentle breezes blowing through. Spacious tile and wood flooring with room to move, dance or lay out the mats for your personal practice. You will enjoy a full kitchen and bath including a claw foot tub, outdoor shower, with additional features like home office, closet and 2 queen beds, one up and one downstairs.
Surrounded by tropical foliage and gardens, it’s been described like living in a luxury tree house. There is a small fishpond in the yard and open air, covered dining on the lanai. This tropical sanctuary is complete with serenading songbirds in the morning, ocean waves crashing in the distance and the call of the coqui frog at night to enjoy under an immense starry sky.
Located in Kalapana Seaview, just a 2 block walk to panoramic ocean views from a grassy park perched on a cliff for sunrise viewing, gazing at the horizon or wildlife spotting. Just a 15 minute stroll to the Black Sand Beach known as Kehena, a clothing optional spot known for powerful beach breaks that offer plenty of excitement.
Located in the heart of Lower Puna called the Red Road, Land of Pele and live volcanoes. Our closest state park, McKenzie, is now as far as one can drive on the Red Road. Starting at the park, heading north there is an oceanside rough lava trail which traverses the lava ocean entries of our recent 2018 volcanic eruption. Heading south is Malama Ki reserve, a lovely wander and picnic area with some tidepools depending on the surf. Now one may drive past the park and over the 2018 lava flow, until reaching Pohoiki Beach Park which was our fishermans boat ramp and surf spot before the 2018 eruption. This area is worth exploring and there are some thermally heated salt and mineral pools there.
Uncle Roberts Night Market, Sunday Ecstatic dance at Hawaiian Sanctuary, and Sunday Maku’u Market are some favorite attractions. Volcano National Park is about an hour away. There are beach parks in Hilo, for swimming, turtle sighting, and snorkeling. The Botanical Garden up Hamakua Coast is beautiful.
Rural Pahoa Town is just 20 minutes away and offers grocery and health food stores, locally owned restaurants and shops, a pharmacy as well as a post office and business center. Hilo’s Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots, Volcano National Park, Hamakua Coast, Akaka Falls, Mauna Kea, South Point and so much more are all possible day trips from this location. However, you may discover that your home base will offer ample beauty, exploration and natural serenity to meet all your needs.
