Positive: The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The quality of everything in the property was good and was furnished very nicely. The beds were very comfortable. George had left us lots of supplies and lovely treats to get us started which we really appreciated. We used the bbq at the property a few times when we didn’t feel like going out to eat (there’s a local taverna and a short drive to Rethymno where there are so many lovely restaurants to chose from). Much of our time was spent relaxing at the pool, reading a book or playing chess in the shaded areas or enjoying breakfast on the balcony. The views were breathtaking - particularly from the rooftop terrace. The air conditioning worked well and the house was lovely and cool due to being built from stone - despite the scorching temperatures outside. Our sons loved swimming in the pool, playing football in the late afternoon and cycling around the gardens (which were more like a small park!). We would all definitely love to return to Villa Ermis one day.
Negative: There really want anything. George advised us to use bottled water for drinking and warned us that the water delivery hadn’t arrived when expected and that we should be careful with water usage meanwhile. To be honest, it didn’t affect anything and we would have been none the wiser. The water delivery arrived a day later so no problems at all.
Summary: Villa Ermis is an enchanting hidden gem which everything required for a relaxing stay.
