Positive: The property was located perfectly- a short walk into the busier side of the resort and right next to Cala Serena, a tiny cove and beach with a bar. The communal areas were spacious and the pool terrace/ dining area was where we spent most of our time. The in resort Mallorca team were incredible whilst we were there. Really helpful and quick at getting the pool sorted (although it needed a proper clean) they were far more helpful than the uk team as they sorted a later check out for us when the uk team said it wasn’t possible. They were really friendly and certainly made the trip easier. The restaurant calls Ferrera/ casa Maria opposite the diving centre at the top of the hill was incredible. Fresh sea bass, seafood and perfect paella/tapas. Highly recommend as this was far better than anything further into the resort and a similar price. The staff are fantastic.
Negative: We didn’t arrive until 2am (I had confirmed this on booking.com) and there were no lights on so getting in was an issue, especially with elderly parents and a sleeping child. Contrary to the floor plans, it is not over 3 floors, the first downstairs bedroom is very dark and small, located under the stairs, the single and second double (advertised as 1st floor) are pretty much ground floor too and the master bedroom is far bigger on the first floor. This wasn’t much of an issue but wasn’t what the floor plans says and the photos online make the rooms look far bigger and lighter than they are. When we arrived it was obvious that the villa hadn’t been totally prepped- there was a damp/ musty smell throughout and the pool was green around the edges. There is nothing provided (no bin bags even) and local spar doesn’t have everything so book an online shopping delivery with eroski before you get there if you don’t was to eat out all the time/ need to wash dishes/clothes etc. The villa itself is in need of a refresh and refurb- again, not something you see on the VP photos. All of the beds are hard and uncomfortable, the pillows are narrow and there are various parts of the bathrooms that could do with fixing or updating. My main concern was the algae in the pool though as the water smelt bad and so we asked someone to come and clean it. He came, added chemicals and left so although the water was a bit clearer, the edges were still green and dried on as they needed a proper clean.
Summary: Location is great, Villa needs an upgrade.
