The Space:
Find your inner peace at this well-appointed, 2,200 SF contemporary cabin, with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and lots of space to relax. Choose from two sitting rooms, enjoy meals on the farm-style kitchen table, and find refuge in the large master suite with separate sitting area and en-suite bathroom. Each room has large windows that offer you an undisturbed view of the well-cared surroundings. The large deck is the ideal place to enjoy the sounds of birdsongs and the Bear Rock stream is also part of the 4-acre property.
Walt’s place offers you ceiling fans for warm fall days and forced heat for the cooler days. The many windows can be opened and offer a gentle breeze throughout the house, while the many blankets make you comfortable when extra warmth is needed.
AMENITIES
We want every stay to be easy and enjoyable, so we've taken care of most of the things you'll need: fresh linens and fluffy towels from Brooklinen; all-natural toiletries from Public Goods; basic kitchen equipment (e.g. coffee maker and grinder, full set of pots and pans, plates and cutlery for 12), etc. If you enjoy cooking, you’ll find grocery and other shopping recommendations in the House Guide. Guests can stream their preferred media on Roku TV and enjoy fast WiFI throughout the house.
Guest Access:
Guests have the entire 4-acre property for their private use. We offer contactless check-in with keypad entry and support by text or phone. If you need on-site assistance, our property management office is right in town and we’re happy to help.
The Neighborhood:
Walt’s Place is situated on one of the most picturesque roads in the Berkshires–a convenient location near some of the best hiking trails in the area, including Race Brook Falls, the Appalachian Trail, and Bartholomew’s Cobble. The charming town of Salisbury, CT is a 5-minute drive and offers highly rated restaurants, Mount Riga State Park as well as the Lime Rock Park Race Track. In the winter you are only a 15 minute drive to Catamount Ski Resort. In the summertime, the Berkshires offer amazing pond swimming, even with your doggos.
Walt’s Place is closest to Salisbury, CT, but only a short drive to Great Barrington, MA which has several grocery stores, outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, yoga, and more. You're also within minutes to hiking, skiing, arts and cultural institutions.

Getting Around:
You'll need a car to get here and get around. The house has moderate cell service, but the Berkshires are full of cellular dead zones, so you may want to download the region's online maps to your device prior to your arrival or any day tripping you do while you’re here.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• We welcome families; please notify us at the time of booking if you would like to request a crib or pack-and-play.
• This is a smoke-free property.
• The Posto Property Team loves animals, and the owners of this property will permit pets, provided that guests receive prior approval and pay the pet fee. (Please note that we require all pets to be potty-trained and our insurance prevents us from accepting any aggressive breeds or dogs with behavioral issues.)
• Due to local community rules and guidelines set by the owner, parties and large gatherings are prohibited at this property. We cannot accommodate weddings, or any events with outdoor music, catering, excessive alcohol, etc.
• For longer stays, we require professional cleaning by our housekeepers every 2 weeks; guests can arrange and pay for this cleaning with the manager.
• To ensure a safe and comfortable stay, the owners of this property require that all guests sign a Short-term Rental agreement that clearly sets forth the terms and conditions of your stay. We provide detailed check-in information 5 days prior to your arrival, and we are pleased to answer your questions at any time.
SECURITY DEPOSIT:
To provide protection in the case of damage, the owners of this property require that we collect a security deposit of $2000 for all reservations. For reservations booked through AirBNB, AirBNB may authorize (place a temporary hold on) your credit card for the amount of the security deposit. For reservations booked through VRBO or directly with us, our payment processor (Stripe) will automatically authorize your card for the security deposit and release the hold within 3 days of checkout.
WHAT TO PREPARE
• You'll find plenty of things to do during your stay. With uncertainties from COVID-19, we recommend making reservations in advance, where appropriate, especially for popular restaurants, museums, and venues. We've assembled a list of our favorites in the House Guide, and we're happy to answer additional questions by text.
• Summer offers warm days with cool nights, while winter in the Berkshires can be cold and snowy. Pack several layers, including sweaters and cold-weather clothes to ensure that you'll be comfortable. In warmer months, we advise that you exercise good judgment to avoid ticks and other pests as you enjoy the outdoors. We recommend you bring (and wear) long pants and tall socks, and apply insecticides like Permethrin to your clothes.
