Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Access was easy with a key lockbox. The house was clean and comfortable with bedding, towels etc. provided. There are a few extras for pets, which was nice, and a garden perfect for any 4-legged family members. The hosts seems to know there are inefficiencies in sockets etc, so had a stash of extension leads in the garage/store next to the kitchen. Also everything you'd need in the kitchen, plenty of cutlery, crockery etc.

Negative: There is no shower at this property, just a bath with a shower hose (and a notice to say only use it to rinse your hair!) No bathroom mirror, nothing to hang towels on (mostly dried over the doors), no cabinet to store bathroom toiletries. There were no toilet roll holders in either toilet (or anywhere to hang a hand towel). But it all worked and we made do! The bedrooms did not have sockets next to the beds, so bring an extension lead if you like to charge your mobile next to the bed (only two extensions in the store next to the kitchen). The garden door lock was hard to navigate - really stiff and takes a few times to get the door open, but once you have the knack it was fine! Didn't like the stash of dirty laundry bags left in the porch - all a bit stinky - but guess this was because they accommodated us very last minue (with less than 24 hours) and didn't have time to collect them. Not a big issue (just something I didn't like). Opposite was an open grass area with lots of camping tents and on Saturday were lots of ponies and a trap and caravan, which was a bit unusual. Also was approached by a young lad as I was leaving one evening to go out - asking (as he had once lived in the house) if he could come and have a look around. Strange (obviously didn't let him - but a bit unnerving).
