Newly constructed industrial loft with front windows that overlook Main Street and 2500sf of living space that boasts 2 ensuites with a king size bed and full bathroom each. In the heart of Baker City and walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, parks and so much more! Great room has a 75" flat screen with sound bar. An 85' "wall of fame" that displays historic black and white photos dated back to the late 1800's of this rural little town. The lift/elevator that was used by the original hardware store back in the early 1900s and even has the original "inspection law" certificates dated 1909 & 1911 displayed in glass behind the lift that is located in the primary bedroom. Large open seating area, 10.5' center kitchen island with barstools, and 2 full size couches to relax and stretch out when you are not exploring the area. The property has lots of natural slate tile accents to add to the original 14' brick walls.
This property is a must see and you will be very comfortable while also learning and living the history within this unit during your stay. There are a few things that must be noted, there is only street parking (the empty lot directly behind the loft is privately owned by a business that uses it for parking their work vehicles), there are 29 stairs to get to the actual loft, the stairway is open at the top with no child gate so it is not recommended for young children, and there is renovation going on in the restaurant below and the buildings on either side during the day (everyone is busy trying to bring new life to Baker City). Last but not least, this building was built in 1890 (the first actual picture I found in archives and displayed on the wall of fame) and the renovation was intended to add new life to be shared while trying to also preserve the previous life of this building.
