Private, lakefront 4 bedroom home, just an easy hour's drive from Portland. Cozy up on the living room sofa in front of our gorgeous stone fireplace, surrounded by exposed beams, 20 foot cathedral ceiling with full walls of windows showing spectacular forest and lake views all around. The 85" TV with sound system will provide theater quality entertainment, and the large dining area and custom kitchen can accomodate a large group. All rooms have 9 foot ceilings, even those on the lower level, providing an open airy feel.
The cozy yet modern home is on a well maintained dirt road, just a short walk to the quaint downtown area of Norway, where you'll find great pubs, restaurants, shops, art museums, and in the summer, community gardens and a farmers market. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level off of the large living room. The lower level has 2 additional bedrooms, full bath, and a family room with large tv and video gaming system, board games, puzzles, etc. Sliding doors from lower level lead to hot tub and firepit area.
Winter activities
Three ski areas are close by:Sunday River (30 miles), Mt Abram (19 miles), and Pleasant Mountain (24 miles). North Conway and NH ski areas are 1.5 hours away. There is easy access to snowmobile, ATV, and nordic ski trails. Snowshoes are available for use at the house, and cross country skis can be borrowed at no cost at the nearby trails at Roberts Farm Preserve. Ice skating is available in town, and on the lake when it's frozen. Soak in the outdoor hot tub after your winter excursions! Nearby indoor nearby activities include the movie theater and quaint shops of Bridgton, the Oxford Casino and many eateries and brewpubs, many with live music.
Summer activities:
Relax on the spacious deck that overlooks the water, or sit right at water's edge on the private dock and watch the sunsets. Use the kayaks and paddleboards, cook on the gas grill then hang out on the deck or outdoor firepit area near the hot tub. Bring your own boat or rent from the local marina and park at our dock. Hiking and biking on nearby trails including nearby preserves managed by the Western Foothills Land Trust.
