Sunlit brick colonial, on a bluff above the Potomac River, backs to parkland and the C & O Canal and Tow Path! Just blocks to some delightful restaurants!
You will fine generous room sizes throughout the home. A welcoming entrance foyer draws you into the home. A large formal and bright living room greets you with wood burning fireplace and two floor-to-ceiling windows. The formal dining room features a buffet, trolly, and a dining table with table with leaves that expands to seat up to 10. The family room off the large and newly renovated kitchen also features a working fireplace and large smart TV.
The enviably large and newly updated kitchen features all new appliances, yards of counter space, and an abundance of cabinet storage. The kitchen is fully stocked with tableware, cookware, and small appliances.
A sunroom off the kitchen has breathtaking views of parkland. It is furnished with a beautiful craftsman redwood table with bench seating for casual dining, and a sofa for curling up with a good book. The sunroom is cooled and heated for year-round enjoyment. The sunroom opens onto a patio with seating.
Upstairs you'll find four bedrooms and two full baths with new pedestal sinks. The large master bedroom suite has a queen bed, abundant closet space, built in bookshelves, a dressing room with seating and walk-in closet, and a full bath with tub/shower. The second bedroom is a corner room with queen bed, dresser and desk, the third bedroom is also a corner room with queen bed and dresser. The fourth bedroom has a twin bed and a large wrap around desk. A full bath off the hallway with tub/shower complete the upper level.
The lower level offers a guest/in-law/nanny suite with a queen bed and full bath, and a spacious family room with high ceilings, smart TV, all new flooring and light fixtures. It is perfect for a playroom, rec room, or home gym. A large laundry room with new large capacity washer/dryer are on this level as well.
The back patio overlooking woodlands is great for quiet time reading, enjoying a meal, or visiting with friends, it has a bistro table and sitting area. The back fence has a gate that opens directly onto parkland and the hiking trail to Battery Kemble Park and Fletcher's Cove!

Summary: The house was very comfortable, well-appointed and clean. The few small issues encountered over our 45-day stay were resolved very quickly and painlessly. Nice quiet neighborhood location that is very accessible to both Georgetown and Arlington VA. I would stay there again.
