Downtown Bungalow is located in the heart of Blue Ridge, this charming one-bedroom cottage was built in the 1940s and was completely renovated and maintains cottage charm. The Downtown Bungalow is located within walking distance to all the restaurants, breweries, shops, and fun that Downtown Blue Ridge has to offer! You'll find this little town to be both people and doggy friendly.
Steps down to the front door from the driveway lead you through landscaped areas that give you that “secret garden” vibe, with all the flora, fauna, and fruit trees surrounding the property. Enter the kitchen which has a retro vibe with a red reproduction of an early 1950s refrigerator and a large stainless farmhouse sink. Modern-day appliances include a glass top range, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffeemaker. The dark rustic wood floors compliment the custom cabinetry, and the white brick backsplash adds just the perfect chic. A high-top table and three stools complete the kitchen when eating indoors, but so much of the weather lends itself to alfresco dining. A pass-through from the kitchen out to the stained wood slab bar gives guests access to outdoor living.
Blue Ridge is all about the outdoors. Choose from one of the four porches including a 3-season screened living area, an outside dining area with lighted umbrella and BBQ grill or relax on one of the two the front porch which lends you a bird's eye view of Downtown Blue Ridge. The several lovely, landscaped gardens around the bungalow, add to its splendor.
The living room is furnished with a large comfortable sectional sofa. Above white beadboard trimmed walls rests a 42” Smart TV flat screen, where guests can stream live TV/sports using the included YouTube TV or log into their subscription services for their favorite movies and shows. Internet access is unlimited and the cell coverage in the city is very good. The bedroom also has a smart TV for late night relaxation. You'll find the bedroom and bath to be very comfortable. The large bathroom includes a walk-in shower and a granite top vanity. And off the bath area is a large laundry room/yoga room, with additional storage.
There are multiple levels to the decks outdoors. There's an area for dining, an outdoor living area complete with a sectional and Smart TV, and a porch looking over the fenced canine area for relaxing with a glass or two of wine while the pets enjoy their vacation, too. Your well-behaved canines are welcome to share your vacation with a dog door from the kitchen to the secure side yard.
You have a convenient parking area for two vehicles in front of the cabin, so you don't have to pay for parking in town; however, you might never move your car again until you leave to head home. Follow the path past the century old white oak and giant sycamore down the historic slate steps quarried from the Blue Ridge dam construction down to the city of Blue Ridge. The historic railroad town is where visitors who rent cabins in mountains come to get a taste of the city and enjoy their vacation. Summary: We had no working toilet the first 24 hours of our stay, Needless to say this was a major inconvenience. We had to make trips to the public restrooms in Blue ridge.
