Enjoy our quiet forest setting. This lovely garden suite is minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, 5-minutes to the Town of Sidney, a 10-minute drive to Victoria International Airport, and less than a half hour drive to the City of Victoria. Many Victoria-area attractions are within a short drive away including the popular Butchart Gardens.
There are so many things to do and see, knowing that a very comfortable, spacious welcoming garden suite awaits you during your stay. Ample parking spaces are available. Six easy steps to enter the sunroom leading you to a well appointed kitchen which includes a coffee machine (drip and Keurig), air fryer, fridge, stove, juicer, spices, microwave, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, baking and roasting pans and more.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a chaise lounge. The bathroom is equipped with all essential items, Including hair dryer, flat iron and hair spray. Enjoy a soak in the bathtub with Epsom salt.
We have fast wi-fi in the suite. The living room has a new wood stove, comfortable seating, and a 58-inch smart TV with a great cable package (including Netflix, Prime, Crave, HBO and a good selection of sports channels). The dining table has seating for 6 comfortably, but can accommodate 8.
Enjoy a Sauna (infrared) after a day of touring. It has seating for 3.
A walkway takes you to a gazebo in the garden for meditation, quiet reading, coffee and smoke breaks, away from the main suite.
We are a pet friendly home and would expect that you clean up after your pup and not allow them on the furniture. Please leash your furry friend when leaving the unit. There are some great places to walk your dog, whether it is just around our neighborhood, or to the ocean at the government dock, or one of the trails or marinas in the area. Also fun for your pup is a popular off leash dog park (Cy Hampson Park) about a 10-minute drive away.
Nearby hiking trails and a duck pond trail are a joy to walk. We are within a short walking distance of a few marinas, one of which has a great pub and a cafe/fine dining restaurant.
The quaint seaside town of Sidney is just a 5 minute drive away. From there you can book whale watching tours, and kayak rentals. A Sidney Island Spit boat will take you to sandy beaches for your picnic lunch, purchased from one of the wonderful bakeries located here. The ocean pier walk about will take you to wonderful restaurants and Port Sidney to view boats and shopping! The summer months offer many activities from live concerts by the ocean to street markets.
The Army and Navy Club has popular live band music every Friday night, a large dance floor, pool tables and darts. Open to all. Truly the best place for fun.
Cycling is very popular here with a paved trail taking you from near FireThorn Manor to Sidney and beyond to experience island life. We are close to wineries, breweries, and even a gin distillery which are very popular.
The owner is a Clinical Esthetician and Diabetic Foot Specialist with a studio inside the manor above the suite should you require treatments.
