Positive: Located in an ancient stone building, the townhouse-style apartment has its own private entrance and has been entirely renovated with quality appliances and fittings. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and informative. Everything for a comfortable stay has been thoughtfully provided. The WIFI was the best we had anywhere in France. While access to the bedroom and bathroom is via a fairly narrow, steep staircase it was not difficult to carry our bags up the wooden stairs. The apartment has plenty of light and is dark and quiet at night. Bed is perfect and bedding of good quality. Situated within a short few minutes walk from the medieval old part of the village, there is a small supermarket, a couple of boulangeries/patisseries, several bars and a very fine restaurant/auberge. The large city of Saint Etienne is only 30-40 minutes away and the famous Thursday market at Yssingeaux about a 15 minute drive. The magnificent town of Le Puy en Velay also about 20 minutes drive. We really couldn’t fault this delightful accommodation. If you wish to discover the “real” France not the touristy part, this is a good place to stay.
