An idyllic 3 bedroom cottage in the heart of the South Down National Park, with incredible views over the Sussex Weald. Coopers Cottage is a beautifully decorated and wonderfully comfortable converted 18th century farm building with a small private garden and stunning views. This charming cottage is surrounded by countryside, ancient woodlands and truly magnificent views. It is ideal as a romantic hideaway for two, a holiday home for 6, or a stylish getaway for friends. Coopers Cottage is a 18th century farm building which has been carefully restored and reconfigured into the perfect holiday cottage. The cottage has been stylishly and elegantly decorated, and has been designed to give you a truly comfortable stay. The double height sitting room has old stone walls and original beams. There are two sofas with beautiful silk Ikat cushions and a shearling throw to cuddle up with, as you sit and relax, or enjoy the view. There is a collection of books, binoculars, games, sky TV and Wifi. The sitting room is accessed down a short staircase off the kitchen. The modern kitchen is light and airy, with a large farmhouse table and chairs. The kitchen has an electric oven, an electric hob, a fridge, a dishwasher and a washing machine, with a table large enough to sit 6 in comfort. There is no tumble dryer (a clothes dryer is available). The Master Bedroom has a Super King sized French Sleigh bed and an en suite bathroom with a roll top bath and a hand held shower. There is a double bedroom with a Queen sized brass bed and a good sized twin bedroom, which share a family shower room. The beds are made up with crisp white bed linen and warm bed throws, with smart fluffy towels. The bedrooms, the family shower room and the kitchen are all accessed from the hall. All of the rooms are on the ground floor. There is central heating throughout.
You have your own parking area for cars and bikes, and a private fenced garden, with a short brick path up to the front door. The views from the kitchen, sitting room, master bedroom and bathroom are simply stunning across the Sussex Weald, which is breath taking and uplifting, even on a chilly February day! you can see countryside for 40 miles with not another house in sight. The view changes throughout the year, in Autumn the colours can rival New England and in Spring the woods are full of bluebells. You will find a well-positioned table and chairs in the cottage garden, overlooking the view, the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of tea or glass of wine in the evening! From here you can watch buzzards and kites soaring across the sky and at certain times of the year, you can hear nightingales in the surrounding woods.
We would ask you to bring your own food, drinks and toiletries. The cottage is on a farm and at times of the year it can get muddy! We would recommend that you bring wellies! We have a herd of pedigree Sussex cattle and South Down sheep, a dog and a farm cat. Please respect the animals and always shut gates. We would kindly ask you to respect that the host's garden is solely for their family's use
