Positive: This property is such a gem and pet friendly. It was HOT when we were there but that’s a Texas summer for you in Llano. We loved the pool, appreciated the extra ACs added to the main house to help the ACs keep up and had a wonderful relaxing trip. The layout of the buildings is well planned and cabins staggered so you can enjoy perfect sunrises and sunsets from the deck of the main house and each cabin and feel like you are the only ones there. The native plants are thoughtfully placed and bird feeders were full so we enjoyed watching birds, including hummingbirds, upon waking each morning. The river was low but we found several swimming holes, explored by rock hopping and even got our dog on a SUP. There was a burn ban in place during our stay but the grassy area by the river has a nice fire pit with surrounding chairs. We brought most of our food from home and had plenty of fridge and freezer space to keep everything fresh. They even have an ice maker (though it needs a good scrub) and a washer and dryer if anyone is crazy enough to want to do laundry on vacation. The kitchen is a chefs dream. Well appointed and easy to work in while still feeling connected to everyone in the main house. The large sofa is comfortable and there is a long table or bar seating as well as two outdoor tables. We enjoyed naps, reading, games, puzzles and Legos during the hottest time of day. Even the coffee table books are on point. Exploring Llano one afternoon was a quick and easy trip down the road and we SUPd in the lake one morning. We felt well informed about the surrounding area, clear about checkin/checkout, and found the management company to be responsive when we had an issue with access to one of the areas due to a missing key. This is a very special place.
Negative: We felt the property was as advertised. We found the lighting in the main house to be very dim and we had to keep blinds closed during the hottest part of the day for temperature control. It seems the “garage” may be a better place for games and activities that require brighter light (it has darts and a foosball table) but something had been recently glued or stained and the chemical smell was intolerable during our stay.
