Originally built in 1898 and expanded in 1924, Hemudd carries the history of its builder—wallpaper installer Karl Emil Fagerlund—into the present day. The layout includes one bathroom, three bedrooms, and a central living and kitchen area, with large windows that frame views of the surrounding trees and water.
The downstairs bedroom has one single bed and a chair bed, while upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed and the other has three singles. Heating comes from electric radiators and two remote-controlled air source heat pumps.
Outdoors, visitors can make use of two hammocks, a charcoal grill, SUP boards, a climbing structure, and outdoor seating for ten. A solar-powered shower is available in the warmer months. The separate wood-fired sauna is located close to the water, with a path leading down to the pier. A small sailing dinghy (for experienced sailors) is also available for use.
