Summary: If you are looking for your own private oasis, this spot is for you! The cabin is located about 25 minutes outside of Port Antonio. There are route taxi's or a private taxi is about $10usd. There is a good sized convenient store in town, a bar, and a place to get some chicken and rice only 3 minutes away. I took a nice long walk and had some beautiful views. I love to collect rocks and this was a great area. There are two other houses enjoying the property with you. They are two single men and they were super helpful and cool. Ramone is the person doing the correspondence thru VRBO. He was awesome and attentive and he helps the owner with the tech stuff. The person who owns the home and property is an older woman (I am a jerk and forgetting her name). She also owns a bar on the property but covid has shut it down... however it is still fully stocked!! She opened it up for me so I could grab some cold drinks. She was very sweet and even roasted me a chicken to enjoy one day. You have your own beachfront property, however the water may or may not be swimmable at the time of your stay. I was there is December and there was lots of rain. The locals said it is not always like that. The Rio Grande is nearby and all the extra rainfall from the mountains made the water extra choppy. The sand is more like dirt and it also brings in a bit of trash. This did not bother me at all because I spent my days getting in a route taxi and going to the beaches outside of Port Antonio. This place is perfect for people who enjoy a good glamping experience. There is electricity in the house, however it was quite dark outside. There is a fan, refrigerator, kitchen sink, shower, and toilet. The house also comes with an unlimited supply of coconuts, a stick to get them down, and a machete to chop it open! I think its a perfect yoga/meditation spot. It is great for someone who likes a bit of seclusion and privacy. I would go back again!
