The Goldgrube-Rauris lies on the outskirts of the village of Bucheben. The Rauris Valley was one of the world centers of gold mining in the Middle Ages. Everywhere you can still find traces of that time. The house is built on the spot where the last professional gold washer went about his craft. Today the house owes its nickname to this activity.
