Brightly lit + spacious garden studio is the perfect San Francisco Bay Area stay. An oasis situated in Oakland's Upper Laurel District, less than 10 minutes walking and you're in the midst of Oakland's historic Laurel Village --restaurants, coffee shops, brewery, gym + more. Also, we're a quick drive to Dimond District, Redwood Regional Park, Fruitvale Bart (travel to SF or anywhere in the bay) + conveniently located near the 580 fwy.
A beautiful garden pathway will lead you to the studio in the middle of our backyard oasis. French doors open up to a queen sized bed, work from home station doubling as an eating nook to your right, full kitchen with pots/pans and cooking utensils to your left, and a lush lemon tree located right outside the studio in case you need an extra cooking ingredient, coffee station, tub style shower for a relaxing bath or quick shower, and two skylights making the already vaulted ceilings that much more impressive. While you're in the studio, the view of our garden is sure to feel like you're in a narnia of your own.
Walk up the hill, and you'll find incredible views of the entire bay (also a great hill to get your daily workout in). Walk 10 minutes and you're in the heart of Oakland's historic Laurel District. A quick 5-10 minute drive will get you to Dimond District, Redwood Regional Park, and Fruitvale Bart. A quick 15-20 minute drive, and you can be in Berkeley, SF or anywhere in the immediate Bay Area.

PARKING: There is ample parking on the street. Be mindful of the street parking signs.
GARDEN: We absolutely love our garden, and enjoy the lush greenery that surrounds our home and the Midvale Mama studio. You're welcome to pick some fruit but please do not pick flowers from the garden or the garden bed.
EV CHARGER: EV Charger available for an additional $25 fee per use.
CLEANLINESS: We kindly ask you to help us maintain the cleanliness of our place, by adhering to the following: shoes off indoors please, do not leave doors open (it will invite uninvited pests) -- our home is pest free and we would like to keep it that way.
WATER: Please be mindful of your water usage. We have a tankless water heater and it may take a minute or two to warm up in the mornings. Also, when showering please ensure shower curtain is completely closed to help prevent water getting on the floor.
COOL + HEAT: We have a split unit that can control the temperature in the studio by using the remote control on the wall. We also have an overhead fan if you prefer to go without AC. This can be turn on by using the remote control on the wall (there's also a light that can be turned on and dimmed). Please be mindful of leaving windows open when you leave, and doors open for too long (to avoid any unwanted insects/bugs). Please use the split unit it as needed, and avoid leaving it on if you’ll be out and about for extended periods of time.
KITCHEN: The Midvale Mama kitchen is ideal for a quick meal, and a perfectly minimalist kitchen. Prior to booking, please note the intentional list of items our kitchen is equipped with: 2 skillets, 1 small pot, silverware, dinner and salad plates, bowls, coffee cups, French Press, drinking cups, can opener, wine bottle/bottle opener, can opener, measuring cups/spoons, spatulas, salt, pepper, Herbes de Provence, olive oil, coffee, and sugar.
TRASH: Please feel free to leave the trash in the studio. If you'd like to dispose of anything yourself, feel free to use the bins on the side of the house.
LIGHTS: Please be mindful of conservation of energy, and turn off lights whenever possible, specifically when you leave for extended periods of time.
SAFETY/SECURITY: For your safety, please keep doors locked while you are inside the property. We live here, we love our home, and we value a safe and secure space. Please remember to keep the gate closed anytime you enter/leave the property.
NOISE AWARE: We love having a good time, and love to play music. You'll likely hear our music as you walk by our house. Having said that, we also want to be respectful of our neighbors, and ask that you maintain quiet hours after 11p. At NO TIME is amplified music permitted anywhere outdoors, this includes external Bluetooth speakers. Quiet hours are between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Failure to respect the quiet hours after an initial warning may result in a cancellation of your reservation without refund, and that’s the last thing we want to do.
Lastly, there are absolutely NO PARTIES ALLOWED (we appreciate your understanding with this one). We’ve equipped the studio with a white noise machine for you to use.
MUSIC: We really do love our music. We’ve made a special playlist for you to listen to throughout your stay (you'll receive upon booking). There’s also a bluetooth speaker :)
GUESTS: A total of 2 guests are allowed in the unit. Please be sure to add your guest to the reservation. Additional guests will need to be pre-authorized, and please note an additional fee will be applied for additional guests.
OTHER RULES:
-No smoking in the studio or on the property, **failure to comply will result in a fine (this includes, but not limited to: tobacco, cannabis, burnt food, fishy smells, and vaping)
-Report anything broken or damaged immediately
-If you move it, put it back
-If you make a mess, please clean it
-Please don't remove anything from the studio or property
-Treat our property like your own
-Absolutely nothing other than toilet paper, human waste or water should ever go down the drain. No flushable wipes, feminine products, paper towels or any other items should go in the toilet. Also, please do not dump any food scraps, grease, fat or oil down the kitchen sink. Any kitchen waste, other than water, can be put into a container (bag, bottle etc.) and put in the trash or the freezer.
-Please do not unplug wifi or Yale lock wall plug-ins (these should both be plugged in at all times)
-If you order food, please have the delivery service meet you in front of the house, we kindly ask that you notify us of unauthorized visitors
